About Me
Liesl Broadbridge, PhD, ScM, CGC
Dr. Liesl Broadbridge is a board-certified genetic counselor and behavioral scientist. Her research focuses on optimizing communication in hereditary cancer genetic counseling and leveraging patient-centered frameworks to improve outcomes. She recently completed her PhD in Health Communication at Rutgers University and is currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center, supported by an NCI F99/K00 Transition Award.
Dr. Broadbridge’s research employs multi-method approaches, integrating survey data with interaction audio to understand how clinical communication affects patient-reported outcomes. Her doctoral work provided a first-of-its-kind characterization of communication and outcomes in post-test genetic counseling. Her postdoctoral research will build on this foundation by developing techniques to efficiently analyze audio for real-time application in clinical settings. With a background spanning molecular biology, clinical genetics, and health communication, Dr. Broadbridge applies a cross-disciplinary lens to the practical challenges of clinical care. Her ultimate goal is to develop evidence-based interventions that improve the quality of cancer genetic counseling and enhance cancer prevention efforts.
